Manikins from balsa wood

From October 2015 I will carve relatively large proportion of my bird manikins from balsa wood. This method I learnt a few years ago abroad. I decided, therefore, because for me balsa has several advantages compared to a polyurethane foam. First, it is a renewable resource! Second, it is harder (wires hold more). Third, glued joints hold better then foam joints (manikin does not crack) and work with this wood is very nice.
